The Indian equity market continued its bull run, rising for the fifth consecutive session on December 28. At close, Sensex jumped 372 points at 72410 level while Nifty gained 124 points and ended the session at 21778 mark.
Around 1578 shares advanced, 1728 shares declined, and 73 shares remained unchanged.
Barring the Information Technology space, all other sectoral indices ended in the green with FMCG, realty, oil & gas, power and metal indices up 1-2 percent each.

Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index climbed 2.54 percent rising for the second day. Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 index closed 0.7 percent higher at 7,614.30. Japan’s Nikkei 225 ended down 0.42 percent at 33,539.62. South Korea’s Kospi was 1.6 percent higher closing at 2,655.28 level.

European shares were flat on December 28 as dipping energy stocks countered rising healthcare shares, though the markets looked set to finish the year strong amid persisting hopes that major global central banks could cut borrowing costs next year, according to a Reuters report.
The pan-European STOXX 600 held steady at 478.67 points. FTSE was down 0.09 percent at 7,717.64 level while CAC shed 0.10 percent at 7,563.87 mark. German DAX was down 0.12 percent at 16,722.64 level.
