The Indian stock market ended on a flat note amid volatility on April 3, 2024. At close, Sensex was down 27 points at 73,876.82 while Nifty shed 18 points and ended the session at 22,434.65.
Around 2,798 stocks advanced and 1,054 declined while 113 stocks remained unchanged.
On the sectoral front, the Realty index was down 2.5 percent and the Auto index slipped 0.4 percent. On the other hand, Power, PSU Bank indices up 1 percent each, and Information Technology, Media index up 0.5 percent each.

Asia-Pacific stocks fell Wednesday, tracking declines on Wall Street overnight, with shares of electric vehicle makers dropping on demand worries. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index was 1.3% lower after rising more than 2% in the previous session. Japan’s Nikkei 225 slid 0.97% to close at 39,451.85, with the broad-based Topix fell 0.29% to end at 2,706.51. South Korea’s Kospi also dropped 1.68% to end at 2,706.97, while the small-cap Kosdaq closed 1.30% lower at 879.96.
European markets were mixed Wednesday as sentiment turned cautious at the start of the new trading quarter. The pan-European Stoxx 600 was slightly higher in morning session. FTSE shed 0.37 percent at 7,905.80 while CAC added 0.22 percent at 8,148.20. German DAX gained 0.26 percent at 18,331.41.
