In our ‘Remembering Pujo’ series, we invite you on a heartwarming journey through cherished Puja memories. From young to old, across continents and cultures, these stories weave a tapestry of shared tradition that will make you rediscover Durga Puja that binds us all.
Every year, Durga Puja brings our scattered family together. As a working professional in Mumbai, I rarely get to see my parents and siblings who live in Kolkata.
But during these five days, we reunite at our home in Kolkata. Mornings begin with Maa’s special luchi and alur dom, followed by visits to the neighbourhood pandals. In the evenings, we gather on the rooftop, sipping tea and catching up on a year’s worth of stories.
It’s these moments of laughter, shared memories, and the simple joy of being together that make Durga Puja so special for me. Despite the distance that separates us for the rest of the year, these five days strengthen our bonds and create memories that last a lifetime.
Did this made you feel closer to home? Then share it with your friends and family and spread the essence of Puja with everyone.
