After a volatile session on December 22, the Indian stock market ended in the green, marking its second consecutive session of gains. At close, the Sensex rose by 241.86 points or 0.34 percent, reaching 71,106.96, while the Nifty gained 94.40 points or 0.44 percent, closing at 21,349.40.
All sectoral indices, except banks, closed positively, witnessing gains in auto, capital goods, healthcare, and oil & gas, each rising by 1 percent. Furthermore, Information Technology, metal, and realty sectors showed a 2 percent increase each.

Asian Markets End Mixed:
At close Nikkei was up 0.09 percent at 33,169.05 mark while Hang Seng declined 1.72 percent at 16,340.41 level. Kospi ended the session on a flat note.
European Markets Muted:
European stocks opened modestly lower on December 22. FTSE gained 0.12 percent at 7,704.21 mark while CAC was marginally up 0.04 percent at 7,574.39 level. German DAX slipped 0.03 percent and was trading at 16,681.69 level.
Azad Engineering IPO
Azad Engineering, the company manufacturing aerospace components and turbines, opened its IPO on December 20, 2023, and will close the issue today, December 22, 2023.
At 4:05 PM, the IPO received a total subscription of 79.97 times or 80.95 crore shares as against 1.01 crore shares. Investors booked 22.65 times the retail portion, which originally consisted of 50.63 lakh shares. The QIB portion saw robust subscription on the last day. It was subscribed to the tune of 179.66 times as against 28.08 lakh shares. NII portion was subscribed 87.22 times as against 21.70 lakh shares.
