Selling was seen in auto and FMCG space with the indices down 0.79 percent and 0.33 percent respectively while Nifty Pharma hit record high, up 0.5 percent.

The Indian stock market was trading in the red with Sensex down 191 points at 65607 mark while Nifty shed 46 points and was trading at 19,685 mark.

Among the sectors, selling was seen in auto and FMCG space with the indices down 0.79 percent and 0.33 percent respectively.

The top losers from the auto space included Balkrishna Industries which declined over 4 percent followed by Mahindra & Mahindra, Ashok Leyland, Motherson Sumi and TVS Motor Company which shed 1-2 percent each.

On the other hand, the top FMCG losers were Hindustan Unilever which slipped 1 percent followed by Marico, Nestle India and ITC which were trading lower by half a percent each.

However, Nifty Pharma touched record highs rising 0.5 percent intraday on November 20, up 14 times in the last 17 trading sessions.

In the second quarter of FY24, the pharma stocks saw strong revenue growth of 14.3 percent over the last year and 1.7 percent over the previous quarter. 

The top gainers from the pharma space included GSK Pharma which jumped over 4 percent followed by Gland Pharma and Divis Labs which added 3 percent each. The other gainers included Biocon, Glenmark Pharma and Lupin which were up 1 percent each.
