The Indian stock market was trading in the green on March 14, 2024, following positive Asian cues. At 1:45 PM, Sensex was up 226 points at 73,028.16 while Nifty added 102 points and was trading at 22,100.30.
Around 2,673 stocks advanced and 1,164 declined while 91 stocks remained unchanged.
Among the sectors, Nifty Media, Nifty Metal and Nifty IT were up 1-2 percent each. On the other hand, selling was seen in Bank Nifty which shed 0.5 percent.

Share price of Federal Bank was down over 2 percent intraday on March 14 after the bank stopped the issuance of new co-branded credit cards. The bank is in the process of rectifying the areas that are deficient and will seek regulatory clearance before the resumption of new issuance.
Asian shares held near seven-month highs on Thursday though traded mostly sideways as investors awaited fresh catalysts that would provide further clarity on the global interest rate easing cycle, according to a Reuters report. Japan’s Nikkei was up 0.29 percent at 38,807.38 while Kospi added 0.93 percent at 2,718.76. Hang Seng shed 0.71 percent at 16,961.66.
