The Indian stock market ended in the red, down 1 percent each on January 30, 2024. At close, Sensex was down 801 points at 71,139 while Nifty declined 215 points and ended the session at 21,522.
Around 1275 stocks advanced and 1267 declined while 99 stocks remained unchanged as the stock market ended in the red.
Among sectors, except realty and PSU Bank, all other indices ended in the red with capital goods, FMCG, pharma, and power down 0.5-1 percent.

Asian markets ended on a mixed note on January 30, 2024. Japan’s Nikkei added 0.11 percent at 36,065 while Hang Seng shed 2.38 percent. Kospi shed 0.07 percent at 2,498.
Most European markets were trading on a positive note with FTSE up 0.63 percent at 7,680. CAC was up 0.48 percent at 7,676 while German DAX gained 0.21 percent at 16,978.
The share price of Zee Entertainment jumped over 5 percent amid reports of an emergency arbitration hearing for the abandoned Zee-Sony merger scheduled the next day in Singapore.
Tata Motors’ share price gained over 2 percent ahead of its Q3 earnings. In the third quarter, Tata Motors’ Jaguar Land Rover division sold 1,01,000 wholesale units, marking a 27 percent year-on-year increase. This also represents the highest wholesale figure in the past 11 quarters.
