Stock Market News: Sensex, Nifty Edge Higher Led by IT, Oil & Gas; Realty Down 2%

The Indian stock market was trading in the green in the afternoon session on April 3, 2024. At 1:35 PM, Sensex was up 162 points at 74,066.21 while Nifty gained 37 points and was trading at 22,491.10.

Around 2,789 stocks advanced and 1,005 declined while 102 stocks remained unchanged.

Among the sectors, IT, oil & gas and metal while selling was witnessed in Realty and FMCG space.

Vodafone Idea:

Share price of Vodafone Idea gained over 2 percent after the company’s shareholders approved fund raise of Rs 20,000 crore on April 3.

Hindustan Zinc:

The stock jumped over 4 percent after the company reported highest-ever quarterly refined metal production at 273 kilo tonne (KT) in March. This comes on account of better plant availability. Mined metal production in the March quarter stood at 299 KT, up 11 percent from the previous quarter, led by a mix of improved mined metal grades and higher ore production across mines.
