The Indian stock market erased yesterday’s gains and ended in the red on March 15, 2024. At close, Sensex was down 453 points at 72,643.43 while Nifty shed 123 points and ended the session at 22,023.35.
Around 1,806 stocks advanced and 2,015 declined while 115 stocks remained unchanged.
Except for Telecom, all other sectoral indices ended in the red with oil & gas, auto, capital goods, and healthcare down 1-2 percent.

Asia-Pacific markets largely fell Friday after producer prices in the US grew at a faster-than-expected 0.6% in February. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index plunged 1.5%. Japan’s Nikkei 225 closed 0.26% lower at 38,707.64, while the Topix bucked the wider sell-off and edged 0.3% higher ending at 2,670.8. South Korea’s Kospi closed 1.91% lower at 2,666.84, according to a CNBC.com report.
European markets were slightly higher on Friday morning, as investors reviewed US inflation data that dented confidence in the outlook for Federal Reserve interest rate cuts this year, according to a CNBC.com report. The pan-European Stoxx 600 was 0.3% higher with FTSE up 0.17 percent at 7,756.58 while CAC added 0.53 percent at 8,204.77. German DAX was up 0.38 percent at 18,009.81.
