The Indian stock market ended the session on February 6, 2024, erasing the previous day’s losses. At close, Sensex jumped 454 points at 72,186.09 while Nifty gained 157 points and ended the session at 21,929.40.
Around 1635 stocks advanced and 943 declined while 90 stocks remained unchanged.
Among the sectors, except bank, FMCG, and power, all other sectoral indices ended in the green with auto, oil & gas, capital goods, healthcare, metal, and IT adding 1-3 percent each.

Asian markets ended on a mixed note on February 6. Japan’s Nikkei shed 0.54 percent at 36,160 while Hang Seng jumped 3.88 percent and ended the session at 16,136.87. Kospi shed 0.59 percent at 2,576.20.
European markets in the early hours of trade were trading in the green with FTSE up 0.35 percent at 7,639.64 while CAC was marginally up 0.08 percent at 7,596.29. German DAX shed 0.14 percent at 16,880.
