Stock Market At Close: Banks Shine Followed by Pharma Stocks; RIL Hits Record High

The Indian stock market ended on a positive note on February 13, 2024. At close, Sensex was up 432 points at 71,505.16 while Nifty added 127 points and ended the session at 21,743.25.

Around 1213 stocks advanced and 1340 declined while 97 stocks remained unchanged.

Among sectors, except metal which shed 2 percent, all other indices ended in the green with bank, healthcare, Information technology, and capital goods up 0.4-1.5 percent each.

Reliance Industries Hits Record High

Reliance Industries share price edged higher on February 13 and became India’s first company to surpass Rs 20 lakh crore in market capitalisation. The stock hit a fresh record high of Rs 2,957 on the BSE. However, at close, the stock traded at Rs 2928.95 per share on BSE. It had a market capitalisation of  Rs 19,81,635.72 crore.

Asian markets end higher

Most Asian markets ended on a positive note on February 13 with Nikkei jumping 2.81 percent at 37,963.97. Kospi was up 1.11 and ended the session at 2,649.64.

European markets trade in the red

Major European markets were trading in the red with FTSE down 0.19 percent at 7,560.14 while CAC shed 0.34 percent at 7,663.55. German DAX slipped 0.58 percent and was trading at 16,938.56.
