Nifty Hits New High Amid Volatility; Auto, IT, Metals Shine

The Indian stock market ended in the green recovering intraday losses on February 22, 2024. At close, Sensex jumped 535 points at 73,158.24 while Nifty jumped 162 points, hitting a new high and closing the session at 22,217.45.

Around 1412 stocks advanced and 1116 stocks declined while 115 stocks remained unchanged.

On the sectoral front, Auto, Capital Goods, Metal, Power, Information Technologies and Telecom were up 1 percent each. However, the banking index ended marginally lower, down 0.21 percent.

Asian Markets End Higher

Major Asian indices ended higher on February 22, 2024. Japan’s Nikkei jumped over 2 percent at 39,098.68 while Hang Seng was up 1.43 percent at 16,742.95. Kospi was up 0.41 percent at the 2,664.27 mark.

European Markets Trade Positive

European markets were trading in the green with FTSE up 0.04 percent at 7,665.33 while CAC gained 0.69 percent at 7,866.33. German DAX jumped 1.11 percent at 17,307.32.
